Birthday report
Roxanne, Dan and I had a quiet celebration at home on Monday. After dinner, we lit candles (all two of them) on the birthday cake (carrot cake, which seems to be a favorite) and sang Happy Birthday. Roxanne liked the song so much, she asked for, "more!" and we sang it again. She couldn't figure out how to blow out the candles, so Dan did it for her, and she cried when they went out. We relit them and blew them out one at a time, which seemed better.
We gave Roxy a big old slab of cake, which she ate heartily with her hands and a fork. This was so much better than last year, when she just sort of stared at the cake in awe and didn't even eat the icing (prior to food camp).
Yay for birthdays!
