Why, yes!

One of Roxanne's favorite phrases right now is "yes, it is." She says it clear as a bell. I think she thinks it's just a more emphatic way to say yes, because the response often doesn't fit the grammar of the question.

Sometimes it works: "Roxanne, is your birthday cake yummy?"

" Yes, it is!"

Sometimes it doesn't:

Roxanne, do you want to go outside? Yes, it is.

Roxanne, come give mommy a hug. Yes, it is.

Roxanne, you are so cute! Yes, it is.

We love that it doesn't always fit. Dan and I have been using "so's your face" and "your mom!" inaccurately for years, just to amuse ourselves.

Are we dorks? Yes, it is.
